The Rainy Day
It was a rainy day in the city. The streets were slick with water, and the sound of raindrops tapping against the windows filled the air. People rushed by, huddled under umbrellas, trying to avoid the worst of the downpour.
But there was one person who didn’t mind the rain. Her name was Sarah, and she loved the way the city looked in the rain. The colors seemed brighter, the air fresher, and everything felt more alive.
Sarah had on her new black rain boots, which had a 3cm heel to give her a little height boost. They were also waterproof, so she didn’t have to worry about getting her feet wet. She walked confidently down the street, enjoying the feeling of the rain on her face.
As she walked, Sarah noticed a man standing in the doorway of a shop, trying to stay dry. He didn’t have an umbrella, and his clothes were already soaked through. Sarah stopped and smiled at him, feeling a little sorry for him.
“Would you like to share my umbrella?” she asked, holding it out to him.
The man looked surprised but grateful, and the two of them huddled together under the umbrella, walking down the street. They chatted about the weather, and Sarah learned that the man’s name was Tom.
As they walked, Sarah noticed that Tom kept glancing down at her rain boots. “Do you like them?” she asked, smiling.
Tom grinned. “Actually, I was thinking that I need a pair of rain boots. These look really practical.”
Sarah laughed. “They are! And they come in gray and ivory too, if you’re interested.”
By the time they reached Tom’s office, the rain had stopped. Sarah said goodbye and continued on her walk, feeling happy and content. She couldn’t wait for the next rainy day, when she could wear her boots again and maybe even run into Tom once more.
